Respect, empathy, and equality are at the heart of safe and healthy communities. Our gender-based violence prevention programs are designed to challenge harmful norms, promote positive expressions of masculinity, and equip young people with the knowledge and skills to build relationships grounded in respect and mutual care. We believe that prevention begins with education, conversation, and modelling healthy behaviour in everyday life.

One of our core initiatives is the Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) program. This program engages coaches, mentors, and young athletes in ongoing discussions about consent, respect, boundaries, conflict resolution, and healthy communication. Rather than treating violence as a private issue, CBIM brings these conversations into team environments where youth look up to their coaches as role models. Through structured weekly discussions, coaches help young men recognize harmful attitudes, understand how their actions impact others, and take responsibility for promoting respect both on and off the field.

These conversations empower youth to identify abusive behaviours, speak up against disrespect, support their peers, and take leadership when they witness harm. The program actively encourages young people to see themselves not only as bystanders, but as advocates for fairness, safety, and dignity.

By cultivating leadership through respect, we are helping to shape a generation that stands firmly for equity, accountability, and compassion. Our long-term goal is to strengthen communities where everyone feels valued, protected, and free to live without fear of violence or discrimination.
